Choosing the grass is the fun bit. Here's what we handle underneath it.
Free samples & site visit
We post physical samples of every grass you shortlist (Grass Direct cover the cost). Then we visit your garden, measure properly with a laser, and give you a fixed all-in quote within 1 working day.
Full sub-base build
Topsoil and turf removed, MOT Type 1 sub-base laid and compacted to the right fall, weed membrane on top. Cheap installs skip this and the grass goes lumpy in 2 winters. We don't.
Proper joining & finishing
Joints sealed with grass tape and adhesive, perimeter pinned or glued to the right edging, kiln-dried sand brushed into the pile to weight and groom it. The finish is what separates a 5-year install from a 25-year one.

How do I know which grass is right for my garden?
Honestly, you don't until you've held a sample. The page lets you shortlist a few favourites and we'll post them out free of charge. Most people pick their winner once they've seen them side by side on their own lawn.
Why are these prices lower than I see elsewhere?
Because Grass Direct's sale is on. The prices shown are what you'd pay direct from Grass Direct today. We don't add a markup — our money is in the installation, not the supply. (We get a small trade discount internally; we don't pass that on, but we don't add to it either.)
Are these the only grasses you fit?
These are our standard range. We can quote on any Grass Direct product, plus a handful of premium brands (Easigrass, Namgrass, etc.) on request. For 95% of jobs the range here covers it.
What's the difference between Premier, Elite and Luxury?
Density and feel, mostly. Premier is excellent value — realistic look, hardwearing, fine for general use. Elite has more fibres per m² (denser, plusher feel), better softness scores. Luxury is gold-standard — the densest fibres, most realistic look, perfect for show gardens or where the lawn is a feature.
Can pets use any of these?
Yes — every grass in this range is pet-safe. The fibres are non-toxic and easy to hose down. If you've got dogs that dig, the denser Elite or Luxury ranges hold up better.
How long does installation take?
Most gardens are done in 1-3 days. A 50 m² standard lawn is usually a 2-day job: day 1 strip and sub-base, day 2 grass laid, joined and finished. Larger or steeper jobs take longer — we'll be honest at the survey.
Do you fit grass I've already bought?
Yes — we'll fit install-only if you've already got grass. Day-rate based on size. The catch: if the grass turns out to be lower quality than spec, we can't warranty the longevity. We always recommend buying through us so the supply & fit are warranted together.
